Potira Viegas Preiss

Potira V. Preiss is a biologist, Master and PhD in Rural Development. She is currently a Post-Doc Fellow Researcher at the Graduate Program in Rural Development (PGDR/UFRGS). She is a member of the Group for Studies and Research in Agriculture, Food and Development (GEPAD) and a member of the Brazilian Network for Research in Sovereignty and Food and Nutritional Security (Rede PenSSAN) as well as the Brazilian Network for Research and Management in Territorial Development (RETE). She has professional experience with governmental, private and non-governmental institutions operating internationally and nationally. She works in research, teaching and community outreach projects with multidisciplinary staff on topics related to sustainable food systems, family farming markets, production-consumption relations, food security and sovereignty, regional development. She was the Executive Coordinator of the III International Conference Agriculture and Food in Urbanized Societies ? AgUrb (2018). She is a member of the Rio Grande do Sul State Food and Nutrition Security Council (CONSEA-RS) and a member of the Alliance for Adequate and Healthy Food.

Potira V. Preiss é bióloga, Mestre e Doutora em Desenvolvimento Rural. Atualmente, é pesquisadora Pós-Doc no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Desenvolvimento Rural (PGDR/UFRGS). É integrante do Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisas em Agricultura, Alimentação e Desenvolvimento (GEPAD) e membro da Rede Brasileira de Pesquisa em Soberania e Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional (Rede PenSSAN) e da Rede Brasileira de Pesquisa e Gestão em desenvolvimento Territorial (RETE). Possui experiência profissional com instituições governamentais, privadas e não governamentais de atuação internacional e nacional. Atua em pesquisa, ensino e extensão com equipes multidisciplinares em temáticas relacionadas a sistemas alimentares sustentáveis, mercados da agricultura familiar, relações produção-consumo, segurança e soberania alimentar, desenvolvimento regional. Foi a Coordenadora Executiva da III Conferência Internacional Agricultura e Alimentação em uma Sociedade Urbanizada ? AgUrb (2018). É Conselheira no Conselho Estadual de Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional do Rio Grande do Sul (CONSEA - RS) e integrante da Aliança pela Alimentação Adequada e Saudável.
