Maria Beatriz Camargo Monteiro Caillaud

Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences (2008) from University of São Paulo, Brazil. As undergraduate researcher I was granted with the Biomedical Training for Underrepresented Minorities Program (FIPSE/CAPES) and worked at the Diabetes Lab, (Wright State University, OH). I obtained my Master (2012) and PhD (2015) degrees from the Department of Endocrinology, University of Sao Paulo Medical School. Spent two years as a postdoctoral fellow at the Laboratory of Systems Pharmacology, Harvard Medical School. My research projects were focused on the screening of new compounds for the treatment of kidney disease and the development of a quantitative approach for toxicity prediction prior to in vivo testing - project funded by Pfizer Inc. Spent another two years as a postdoc at the University of Sao Paulo Medical School working on the identification of potencial biomarkers for the progression of diabetic kidney disease with the use of longitudinal clinical data + human urine. I'm currently medical manager at Takeda Pharmaceuticals working with short bowel syndrome and intestinal failure and Assistant Professor at FMUSP.

Graduação em Ciências Fundamentais para a Saúde (2008) pelo ICB/USP com estágio no Laboratório de Diabetes da Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University (OH/EUA). Mestre e Doutora pela Disciplina de Endocrinologia da Faculdade de Medicina da USP com estudo de coortes de pacientes portadores de na doença renal diabética e GESF. Pós-doutorados no 1) Laboratory of Systems Pharmacology, Harvard Medical School com projetos em novos compostos para o tratamento de injúria renal aguda e de modelo de identificação de nefrotoxicidade em compostos candidatos a drogas, e na 2) Faculdade de Medicina da USP estudando potenciais biomarcadores de progressão da doença renal diabética. Gerente médico científico na Takeda Pharmaceuticals trabalhando com falência intestinal e Profa Colaboradora III no Depto de Clínica Médica da FMUSP.
