Sebastião Varella

Graduated at Engenharia Mecânica at Escola Federal de Engenharia de Itajubá (EFEI) in 1970, now Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI); master's at Mechanical Engineering from Universidade Federal de Itajubá (1976), Diplomed Imperial College (1978) -Imperial College of Science & Technology - London; master's at Mechanical Engineering (Thermal Power Engineering) from University of London (1978) and PhD. at Mechanical Engineering from Southampton University (1981); Post Doctorate at Technische Hochschule Darmstadt. Retired Ful Professor at Universidade Federal de Itajubá (1972 bis 2003), in Thermal and Hydraulic Power Plants and Turbomachinery. Also Coordinator of the Research in Wind Turbine (1983 bis 1988) and development of Decanter for de-oiling and de-watering operation (1992 bis 2006) both financiated by CENPES-PETROBRAS. Since 2004, actuating in a communitarian service, as the Manager of a Cooperative (COAMBIENTAL), in Ubatuba, for collecting and sewege treatment of the district of Praia Grande in Ubatuba. Has experience in Mechanical Engineering, actuating on the following subjects: gas turbines, hydarulic and eolic turbines, ventilation, cyclones and separators, design and operation of sewage treatment plant.

Professor Titular (1972 a 2003) aposentado da UNIFEI, onde atuei na área de Centrais Térmicas e Hidráulicas e urbomaquinas. Fui Coordenador de Pesquisa em Turbina Eólica (1983 a 1988) e desenvolvimento de Centrifuga para operação tanto para de-oiling e de-watering (1992 a 2006) ambas com financiamento do CENPES-PETROBRAS. Desde 2004, atuo em um serviço comunitário, como Gerente da uma Cooperativa (COAMBIENTAL), em Ubatuba, para coleta e tratamento de esgoto do bairro da Praia Grande em Ubatuba. Tem experiência na área de Engenharia Mecânica, com ênfase em Centrais Termo e Hidrelétricas, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: turbinas a gás, turbinas hidráulicas e eólicas, ventiladores, ciclones, separadores e projeto e operação de Sistemas de Tratamento de Esgoto.
