Alex Francisco Antunes

Alex Francisco Antunes held a bachelor's degree in geology from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) in 2000 and obtained his PhD degree in Geodynamics from UFRN in 2004. Currently, he is Associate Professor IV of the Department of Geology at UFRN, where he teaches the disciplines of Geological Mapping, Structural Geology, Introduction to Seismic Methods and Field Geology, and belongs to the permanent research staff of the Graduate Program in Geodynamics and Geophysics of UFRN (PPGG / UFRN). He mainly works on research topics involving Structural Geology and Basin Tectonics, with an emphasis on seismic structural interpretation, structural modeling, seismic attribute analysis, seismic inversion and machine learning.

Alex Francisco Antunes é Bacharel em Geologia formado pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) em 2000 e obteve o título de Doutor em Geodinâmica, també pela UFRN, no ano de 2004. Atualmente, é Professor Associado IV do Departamento de Geologia da UFRN, onde leciona especialmente as disciplinas de Desenho Geológico, Geologia Estrutural, Introdução aos Métodos Sísmicos e Geologia de Campo, e pertence ao quadro de professores permanentes do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Geodinâmica e Geofísica da UFRN (PPGG/UFRN). Atua principalmente em temas de pesquisa envolvendo Geologia Estrutural e Tectônica de Bacias, com ênfase em interpretação sismoestrutural, modelagem estrutural, análise de atributos sísmicos, inversão sísmica e machine learning.
