Karine Assumpção

Master in Social Sciences from the Federal University of São Paulo (2014), with research funded by FAPESP, she is a doctoral student in the Postgraduate Program in Social Anthropology at State University of Campinas, since 2017, and researcher linked to the CPEI (Center for Research in Indigenous Ethnology), at IFCH/Unicamp. She has a BA and BS in Social Sciences from the Federal University of São Paulo (2011), with two scientific initiations funded by CAPES. She has been working at the National Foundation of Indigenous Peoples (Funai) since September 2019. She was a lecturer in the Specialization course in Indigenous Health (distance learning) offered by the Open University of SUS and UNIFESP, in 2015. She works mainly with the following themes: indigenous health, interethnic relationship, state and indigenous peoples, health-disease-care-healing interactions, biomedicine and public health policies.

Mestre em Ciências Sociais pela Universidade Federal de São Paulo (2014), com pesquisa financiada pela FAPESP, é doutoranda do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Antropologia Social da Universidade Estadual de Campinas, desde 2017, e pesquisadora vinculada ao CPEI (Centro de Pesquisa em Etnologia Indígena), no IFCH/Unicamp. Possui bacharelado e Licenciatura em Ciências Sociais pela Universidade Federal de São Paulo (2011), com duas iniciações científicas financiadas pela CAPES. Trabalha na Fundação Nacional dos Povos Indígenas (Funai) desde setembro de 2019. Foi docente do curso de Especialização em Saúde Indígena (à distância) ofertado pela Universidade Aberta do SUS e UNIFESP, em 2015. Trabalha principalmente com os seguintes temas: saúde indígena, relação interétnica, estado e povos indígenas, interações de saúde-doença-cuidado-cura, biomedicina e políticas públicas de saúde.
