Edison Luís dos Santos

I am a researcher, librarian, guitar player, cinephile and scholar of African and indigenous cultures of oral tradition, with an emphasis on the ancestral knowledge of ?living libraries?, the masters of oral knowledge. After completing my bachelor's degree in Linguistics (FFLCH-USP) and in Librarianship (ECA-USP), I focused on the issue of the "colonial condition" and the role of cultural mediation in differentiated symbolic territories, which led me to know the quilombola/caiçara community of Cambury (Rio que Muda), Ubatuba-SP. In 2018, I defended the doctoral thesis: Paths of information in cultures of oral tradition: the enchanted sphere of living libraries; the conceptual framework is transdisciplinary and encompasses the following fields: Epistemology of Information Science; Culture ? Oral Tradition; Information and Memory; Information Device and Sociotechnical Networks. I am a collaborator of the Open Ontologies Study Group at USP; member of the Research Group on Transdisciplinary Studies of African Heritage (UNIP/SP) and of the Study Group on Computational Humanities and Cultures (supervised by Prof. Dr. Teixeira Coelho), with the aim of studying the impacts of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the arts and culture digital. Since 2021, I have been doing volunteer work at the Odé Kayodê Pluricultural School and at the Obá Biyi Library collection, in addition to participating in the Egbé Odé Kayodê Collective, cultural spaces with an Afro-indigenous matrix, based in the symbolic territory of Vila Esperança (GO). I am currently developing a Post-Doctoral project at the Institute for Advanced Studies (IEA/USP), which aims to study the anthropotechnical issue related to the phenomena of e-Culture and e-Art; reflect on the contemporary reality of computational and digital cultures and cultural production (mediated or self-produced), in order to understand the new scenario in which the machine has already replaced the work of humans and is on the way to replacing it, through Artificial Intelligence (AI) , intellectual work.

Sou pesquisador, bibliotecário, cinéfilo e estudioso das culturas de tradição oral de matriz africana e indígena, com ênfase nos saberes ancestrais dos mestres do saber oral (Bibliotecas Vivas). Após concluir bacharelado em Linguística (FFLCH-USP, 2003) e em Biblioteconomia (ECA-USP, 2009), debrucei-me no Mestrado sobre a problemática da Condição Colonial e o papel da mediação cultural em territórios simbólicos diferenciados, o que me levou a conhecer a comunidade quilombola/caiçara de Cambury, Ubatuba-SP. Em 2018, defendi a tese de doutorado: Veredas da informação em culturas de tradição oral: a esfera encantada das bibliotecas vivas. Em 2022, concluí Pós-Doutorado no Instituto de Estudos Avançados (IEA/USP), estudando a questão antropotécnica relacionada aos fenômenos da e-Cultura e e-Arte, a fim de refletir sobre a realidade contemporânea das culturas computacionais e digitais e da produção cultural (mediada ou autoproduzida), a fim de compreender o novo cenário em que a máquina já substituiu o trabalho dos humanos e caminha para substituir, por meio da Inteligência Artificial (IA), o trabalho intelectual. Tenho experiência na área de Biblioteca e Sociedade, Ação e Mediação Cultural, Inovações sociais e redes sociotécnicas de informação em territórios simbólicos diferenciados e culturas de tradição oral no campo da Ciência da Informação. Sou criador de dispositivos sociotécnicos para produção de conhecimento e circulação social de saberes/fazeres, como a Estação Memória Cambury, a Clínica do Texto, CEACA e a Rede de Informação em Tecnologia Assistiva; colaborador do Grupo de Estudos Ontologias Abertas da USP; membro do Grupo de Pesquisa Estudos Transdisciplinares da Herança Africana (UNIP/SP) e do Grupo de Estudos Humanidades e Culturas Computacionais (IEA-USP), que estuda os impactos da Inteligência Artificial (IA) nas artes e cultura digitais. Desde 2021, realizo trabalho voluntário na Escola Pluricultural Odé Kayodê e no acervo da Biblioteca Obá Biyi, além de participar do Coletivo Egbé Odé Kayodê, espaços culturais de matriz afro indígena, sediados no território simbólico de Vila Esperança (GO).
