Nicoll Andrea Gonzalez Escobar

Biologist, graduated at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), Master and Doctoral Student of the Postgraduate Program in Plant Biology (UNICAMP). I am currently a substitute professor of Botany at the Universidade Federal do Acre (UFAC), campus Floresta, Centro Multidisciplinar, working in the disciplines of Plant Morphology and Anatomy and Plant Physiology (courses in Biological Sciences, Agronomic Eng. and Forestry Eng.) and I develop my doctoral research on plants known and used by the Nukini indigenous community, located in the southwest of Acre's Amazon (CAAE n° 37910920.3.0000.5404 / Funai Process n° 08197.000176/2020-75). I have experience in Angiosperm taxonomy, technical consultancy (reforestation projects, plant characterization and identification of plant species) and environmental education. My topics of interest are: plant taxonomy; ethnobotany; traditional knowledge; biodiversity and agrobiodiversity; conservation and management of the Amazonian flora.

Atualmente, sou professora substituta de Botânica, na Universidade Federal do Acre (UFAC), campus Floresta, Cruzeiro do Sul (AC), atuando nas disciplinas de Morfologia e Anatomia Vegetal e Fisiologia Vegetal (cursos de Ciências Biológicas, Eng. Agronômica e Eng. Florestal) e desenvolvo pesquisa de doutorado sobre plantas conhecidas e utilizadas pela comunidade indígena Nukini, localizada no sudoeste da Amazônia acreana (CAAE n° 37910920.3.0000.5404 / Processo Funai n° 08197.000176/2020-75). Tenho experiência em taxonomia de Angiospermas, consultorias técnicas (projetos de reflorestamento, caracterização vegetal e identificação de espécies vegetais) e educação ambiental. Meus temas de interesse são: taxonomia vegetal; etnobotânica; conhecimentos tradicionais; biodiversidade e agrobiodiversidade; conservação e manejo da flora amazônica.
