Vagner Oliveira Carvalho Rigaud

Currently, I am a Research Scientist II at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. In 15+ years of experience, I had the privilege of being involved in basic, translational, and clinical research providing me with a comprehensive view of the cardiovascular field. My scientific interest is to understand the molecular mechanisms involved in cardiovascular diseases and to translate this knowledge into innovative therapeutics. My hard work and efforts have been recognized with several awards including the highly prestigious American Heart Association (AHA) Postdoctoral Fellowship, and my nomination for the AHA Melvin L. Marcus Early Career Investigator Award, only awarded to the most promising researchers in the field. My skills and commitment to science are proven by a strong track record of 34 publications (17 of them as first or last author; and 3 more currently under review/preparation) including top journals in cardiovascular field such as Circulation and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC). In addition, I have received over 1200 citations (h-index 15) and served as a referee for 25 scientific journals.
