Márcio Rosa D`Avila

Arquiteto e doutor em Arquitetura e Urbanismo pela Universidade de Kassel (UniKassel) no ano de 2006. Desde março de 2008 atua como professor no curso de graduação, extensão e docente pesquisador do Curso de Arquitetura e Urbanismo da Escola Politécnica da Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS). No período entre 2002 e 2005 atuou como pesquisador em projeto de pesquisa na área da habitação social fomentado pelo Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) junto ao Departamento de Construções Experimentais da UniKassel e desde 2006 atua como arquiteto. Membro e consultor do Comitê de Gestão Ambiental (CGA) da PUCRS. Entre 2016 e 2017 Agente de Inovação da Faculdade de Arquitetura e Urbanismo junto à Rede Inovapuc, Coordenador da Comissão de estudos para criação do Programa de Pós-Graduação e Coordenador Adjunto da Comissão Científica da FAU PUCRS. Consultor Ad Hoc da Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul (FAPERGS), do Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq) e do Serviço Brasileiro de Apoio às Micro e Pequenas Empresas (SEBRAE). Pesquisador do projeto Uso Sustentável da Energia (USE) do Grupo de Eficiência Energética (GEE) da Faculdade de Engenharia (FENGPUCRS) e coordenador do Curso de Especialização Arquitetura da Habitação de Interesse Social da FAU PUCRS. Pesquisador Fundador do CDEA (Centro de Estudos Europeus e Alemães - UFRGS-PUCRS-DAAD). Líder do Grupo de Pesquisa Sustentabilidade e Eficiência Energética na Arquitetura, cadastrado no Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq), com ênfase em projetos na área da arquitetura e urbanismo sustentáveis.
Márcio Rosa D´Avila is an architect and urban planner. He has a Bachelor in Science (1999), Master Degree in Science (2002) and a PhD (2006) degrees in Architecture, Urbanism and Landscaping by University of Kassel (UniKassel). His doctoral dissertation was an analysis of Affordable Housing and Sustainability Projects in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. He has undertaken research activities in the field of building environment performance and sustainable cities at UniKassel in the period from 2002 to 2005. These research projects were funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). From 1999 to 2001, he acted as a collaborator in the conception of the graduate program on Energy Building of UniKassel and the Federal University of Paraná. Since March 2008, he has been working as a professor and as a researcher at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) in the School of Architecture and Urbanism. In 2006 and 2008, he worked as architect the Cooperative COOPERFUMOS, in the field of low cost, energy efficiency and thermal performance of buildings in rural area in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. In 2008 and 2009, he worked as an architect and as a consultant of the Department of Construction Division of PUCRS, in the field of energy efficiency and thermal performance of buildings. Currently he provides technical and research consultancy in the same area for the Energy Efficiency Group of the School of Engineering. The research topics and projects, both developed and in course, have as main topic and objective the research, study, analysis and formulation of more sustainable proposals in the projects. The areas of activity of such projects are in the urban, architectural and technological contexts. The research activities are funded by scientific grants and the submission of projects to research incentive organizations, such as the Foundation for Research Support of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (FAPERGS), the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), the Scholarship Program Students and the Support Program Integration Between Areas of PUCRS. He has several publications in journals and book chapters and also organized and participated of scientific committees of international conferences. He worked as a consultant for the Committee of the Master Plan for Urban and Environmental Development of Porto Alegre in 2009. Since 2011 he is a leader of the Group of Research Sustainability and Energy Efficiency in Architecture registered by CNPq. He lectured in 2012 at the Biennial of Architecture - La Paz, Bolivia. He was a local curator of the 10th São Paulo Architecture Biannual - The Project Weltstadt ? Who creates the city?. Porto Alegre 2013 - Goethe-Institut and the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB). He is currently an Ad Hoc Consultant of FAPERGS, CNPq and the Brazilian Service of Support to Micro and Small Enterprises (SEBRAE), a member of the Smart City Research Center at PUCRS and a researcher founder and member of Center for European and German Studies - UFRGS-PUCRS-DAAD (CDEA). His research interests are sustainability, energy efficiency and technology in the architectural and urban project, smart cities, affordable housing, Energy efficient housing and high performance buildings.
