Diana Stirbu

Researcher and educator in the field of public administration and politics. Areas of expertise: devolution and administrative reform in the UK, strategic management in public and political institutions, leadership and innovation in the public sector, public engagement and gender representation.Diana joined London Metropolitan University in April 2010, after obtaining a Masters degree in Public Administration and a PhD from the University of Liverpool Management School exploring institutional changed in the National Assembly for Wales triggered by constitutional developments in the UK .Diana specialises in institutional, political and administrative reform and has a strong interest in territorial politics and administration and multi-level governance. Diana's focus on the UK devolution process encompasses analysis of the new political spaces in Wales and Scotland and explores their deliberative capacity. The emphasis on political and public institutions is supported by Diana's work on strategic management in the public sector and her management analysis of parliamentary organisations.As a former researcher for the Hansard Society's Parliament and Government Programme, Diana undertook a comparative analysis of public engagement in parliamentary democracies around the world. Diana s interest in public engagement and participation in parliamentary organisations is manifested through membership to the SPG s Public Engagement specialist group.Diana is also interested in issues revolving around gender representation in politics, constitutional design, scrutiny and accountability in the public sector, and parliamentary studies.
