Sara Gemini Piperni

Graduada em Biotecnologia Farmacêutica pela Universidade de LÁquila, Mestre em Biotecnologia Celular e Molecular pela mesma instituição, com Bolsa de estudo NIAF nos EUA no Sierra Nevada College. Doutora em Biotecnologia pela Universidade de LÁquila, sanduíche Marie Curie Fellow dentro do Projeto INTERBONE, pelo qual visitou a UNIGRANRIO em Duque de Caxias, RJ, Brasil, e a ANA University em Chennai, Índia. Foi bolsista técnica CNPq no INMETRO/RJ no projeto" Nanoestrutura de biomateriais e minerais biogênicos: fundamentos e aplicações" e, sucessivamente, no projeto NANOREG dentro do edital/chamada "Crédito aos Laboratórios Brasileiros envolvidos dentro de pacotes de trabalho do projeto NANOREG". Bolsista FAPERJ pós-doutorado nota 10 no CBPF noprojeto "Estudo translacional de nanomateriais para saúde: avaliação do tráfico intracelular, biodistribuição e citotoxicidade". Professora na UNIGRANRIO, Duque de Caxias, até 2021. Atualmente, é professora adjunta A no Departamento de Histologia do Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas-UFRJ, onde coordena o Laboratório de Bioengenharia, Biotecnologia e Biomateriais Nanoestruturados (Labεn). Desde 2023, participa da comissão de coordenação do curso de Ciencias biologicas- modalidade médica do ICB e atua como coordenadora da Inovação e empreendedorismo (INOVA-ICB).

Sara Gemini Piperni is graduated in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology from the University of LÁquila, Master in Cellular and Molecular Biotechnology from the same institution with NIAF Scholarship at USA at Sierra Nevada College. PhD in Biotechnology from the University of LÁquila, Marie Curie Fellow within the INTERBONE Project, visiting UNIGRANRIO in Duque de Caxias, RJ, Brazil, and the ANA University in Chennai, India. She was a CNPq technical fellow at INMETRO/RJ in the project "Nanostructure of biomaterials and biogenic minerals: fundamentals and applications" and, successively, in the NANOREG project within the public notice/call "Credit to Brazilian Laboratories involved within work packages of the NANOREG project". FAPERJ post-doctoral fellow grade 10 at CBPF in the project "Translational study of nanomaterials for health: evaluation of intracellular trafficking, biodistribution and cytotoxicity". Professor at UNIGRANRIO, Duque de Caxias, until 2021. Currently, she is an adjunct professor at the Department of Histology at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences-UFRJ, where she coordinates the Laboratory of Bioengineering, Biotechnology and Nanostructured Biomaterials (Labεn). Since 2023, she has participated in the coordination committee of the Biomedicine Graduation at ICB and she is coordinator of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (INOVA-ICB).
