Taís Mattoso de Andrade Ribeiro

I am a PhD student and research assistant in the Department of Entomology at the University of Maryland (UMD, USA). As for my academic formation, I am a bachelor and licensed for teaching Biological Sciences, graduated by the University of Brasilia (2014) and Master in Zoology by the same University (2018). My main research interests are Evolutionary Biology and Biogeography, especially bee evolution. I have some experience in Botany, focusing on taxonomy of the genus Bauhinia (Caesalpinioideae), since I worked at the Botany Department of the University of Brasilia with scholarship from CNPq from 2011 to 2013. During my graduation, I was an exchange student for 1 year on Maastricht University, in the Netherlands, in the Maastricht Science Programme. In my masters I studied the evolution and distribution modelling of the oil collecting bees from the genus Lanthanomelissa and how its biogeography reflects the origin and diversification of the South American Grasslands.

Sou aluna de doutorado e assistente de pesquisa no Departamento de Entomologia da Universidade de Maryland (UMD, EUA). Possuo graduação (bacharelado e licenciatura) em Ciências Biológicas pela Universidade de Brasília (2014) e mestrado em Zoologia pela Universidade de Brasília (2018). Tenho experiência e interesse em Biologia Evolutiva, Biogeografia histórica e, especialmente evolução de abelhas. Também tenho experiência na área de Botânica, com ênfase em Taxonomia de Bauhinia (Caesalpinioideae) e trabalhei no Departamento de Botânica da Universidade de Brasília sendo bolsista do CNPq desde 2011 até 2013. Realizei intercâmbio de 1 ano na Maastricht University, na Holanda, no curso de Ciências (Maastricht Science Programme). Durante o mestrado estudei a biogeografia histórica dos Pampas a partir da evolução e modelagem de distribuição de abelhas coletoras de óleo do gênero Lanthanomelissa.
