Bryan Eric Strauss

Bachelor?s degree in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology ? University of California, Santa Barbara (1989) and doctorate in Molecular Pathology ? University of California, San Diego (1997). Obtained the title of Livre Docente (2011) ? Department of Radiology, in the area of Basic Oncology, FMUSP. Currently is a Medical Research Coordinator and director of the Viral Vector Laboratory in the Center of Translational Investigation in Oncology (CTO), Cancer Institute of Sao Paulo (ICESP). Also is a member of the Nucleus for the Convergence of Life Sciences, Physics and Engineering for Innovation in Diagnostics and Therapies (NAP IDx&T) as well as a member of the International Committee of the American Society of Gene and Cell Therapy. Has experience in the area of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, with emphasis in Gene Therapy, acting principally in the following topics: viral vectors; tumor suppressor genes; immune modulating genes; cancer; genetic modification of stem cells; cardiovascular and hematopoietic diseases; animal models.

Possui graduação em Bioquímica/Biologia Molecular - University of California, Santa Barbara (1989) e doutorado em Patologia Molecular - University of California, San Diego (1997). Obtenção do título de Livre Docente (2011) - Departamento de Radiologia, Área de Oncologia Básica, FMUSP. Atualmente é Coordenador de Pesquisa Médica e diretor do Laboratório de Vetores Virais no Centro de Investigação Translacional em Oncologia (CTO), Instituto do Câncer do Estado de São Paulo (ICESP). Presidente, Comissão interna de Biossegurança, Departamento de Radiologia e Oncologia (CQB 084/98), FMUSP. Também é membro da Reneta (Rede Nacional de Especialistas em Terapias Avançadas) da ANVISA. Tem experiência na área de Bioquímica e Biologia Molecular, com ênfase em Terapia Gênica, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: imunoterapia, vetores virais; genes supressores de tumor; genes imunomoduladores; câncer; modificação genética de células tronco; modelos animais.
