Leo Ximenes Cabral Dutra
I am a marine scientist with experience on biology, taxonomy and ecology of marine invertebrates, sedimentology, effects of climate change and sea level fluctuations on coral reefs, and ecosystem modelling for multiple-use management. I have worked extensively in Brazil, East-Timor and Australia on research projects and published the results of my research in articles published in magazines, abstracts published on conference proceedings, peer reviewed journals, book sections, client reports, and book. I am also the convener of the catchment-to-coast community-of-practice, a group composed of modellers from CSIRO (and open to others) and established links with Australian and international institutions.Leo has a bachelor's of Biological Sciences from Universidade Federal da Bahia (2000), masters in Marine Geology (sedimentology) from Universidade Federal da Bahia (2003) and PhD in ecological economics from University of New England (2007). Has experience in the development of decision support tools, ecosystem modelling, benthic ecology,and ecological economics, acting on the following subjects: coastal and natural resources management, organisational learning, decision-making models, coral reefs and tourism planning and management.
possui graduação em Ciências Biológicas pela Universidade Federal da Bahia (2000), mestrado em Geologia pela Universidade Federal da Bahia (2003) e doutorado em ecologia econômica pela University of New England (Austrália) (2007). Atualmente é pesquisador do CSIRO (Divisão de Pesquisas Marinhas e Atmosféricas na Austrália) e possui experiência nas áreas de gerenciamento costeiro, modelagem ecológica, pesquisas em recifes de corais e turismo.
