Thiago Felipe Alves Pinto

Thiago Alves Pinto holds an LLB (Hons.) from Centro Universitário Curitiba (Brazil), a master's degree in International Human Rights Law from Åbo Akademi University (Finland), and a DPhil in Law from the University of Oxford. He is currently a Departmental Lecturer in Legal Studies and Diplomatic Studies and the Director of Studies in Religion and Theology at the Department for Continuing Education, University of Oxford. He has taught at several universities, including the University of Oxford, the University of Oslo, the Federal University of Uberlandia (Brazil), Bauchi State University (Nigeria), and the University of Notre Dame (UK). Thiago has also participated in human rights research at the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights (University of Oxford) and the Oslo Coalition on Freedom of Religion or Belief (University of Oslo), and continues to be associated with both institutes. He is also a fellow of Kellogg College. Thiago has also been actively involved with NGOs, Think Tanks, as well as national and international organisations, having worked in different capacities with the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, UNESCO, the International Organization for Migration, the International Panel of Parliamentarians for Freedom of Religion or Belief, the Parliament of the United Kingdom, and Chatham House. He currently serves as an Advisory Member of the ODIHR Panel of Experts on Freedom of Religion or Belief of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

Thiago Alves Pinto é bacharel em Direito pelo Centro Universitário Curitiba (Brasil), mestre em Direitos Humanos Internacionais pela Universidade Åbo Akademi (Finlândia) e Doutor em Direito pela Universidade de Oxford. Atualmente é professor na área de Estudos Jurídicos e Estudos Diplomáticos, e Diretor de Estudos em Religião e Teologia no Departamento de Educação Continuada da Universidade de Oxford. Ele lecionou em diversas universidades, incluindo a Universidade de Oxford, a Universidade de Oslo, a Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (Brasil), a Bauchi State University (Nigéria) e a University of Notre Dame (Reino Unido). Thiago também participou de pesquisas em direitos humanos no Bonavero Institute of Human Rights (Universidade de Oxford) e na Oslo Coalition on Freedom of Religion or Belief (Universidade de Oslo) e continua associado a ambos os institutos. Ele também é fellow do Kellogg College. Thiago também está ativamente envolvido com ONGs, think tanks, bem como organizações nacionais e internacionais, tendo trabalhado em diferentes cargos com o Escritório do Alto Comissariado das Nações Unidas para os Direitos Humanos, a UNESCO, a Organização Internacional para as Migrações, o Painel Internacional de Parlamentares para a Liberdade de Religião ou Crença, o Parlamento do Reino Unido e o Chatham House. Atualmente, ele atua como Membro Consultor do Painel de Especialistas em Liberdade de Religião ou Crença da ODIHR da Organização para a Segurança e Cooperação na Europa (OSCE).
