Bacharel e licenciada em Ciências Biológicas (2002), bacharel em Administração (2011) e doutora em Biologia Molecular(2007) todos pela Universidade de Brasília (UnB). Lider do Programa de Biodiversidade para o Futuro e Diretora do Genebank do International Potato Center (CIP) em Lima, Peru desde 2021. Atuou como Diretora do Genebank do ICRISAT em Hyderabad, India (2018 - 2021) e como pesquisadora da Embrapa Recursos Genéticos e Biotecnologia (2007-2021), lotada no Laboratório de Genética Vegetal. Atuou na Supervisão de Curadoria de Germoplasma da Embrapa (2011 a 2015) e liderou a Rede Vegetal (2012 e 2015) e a Vertente Vegetal (2016-2018), no Portfólio de Gestão Estratégica de Recursos Genéticos para Alimentação Agricultura e Bioindústria. Foi membro do comite gestor deste portfolio pelo mesmo periodo. Atuou como Representante do Brasil no Grupo de Trabalho Intergovernamental sobre Recursos Fitogenéticos para a Alimentação e Agricultura (GTTI Fitogenéticos) no âmbito da Comissão de Recursos Genéticos para Alimentação e Agricultura da FAO (CRGAA-FAO) nos anos de 2016-2018. Foi curadora do Banco de DNA de Plantas da Embrapa Recursos Genéticos e Biotecnologia (2009-2018). Tem experiência na área de conservação genética in situ e ex situ, caracterização molecular, genética de populações, filogenia molecular e DNA barcoding.

Leader of the Biodiversity for the Future Program and Director of the Genebank at the International Potato Center (CIP) in Lima, Peru since 2021. She served as Director of the Genebank at ICRISAT in Hyderabad, India (2018 - 2021) and as a researcher at Embrapa Genetic Resources and Biotechnology (2007-2021), assigned to the Laboratory of Plant Genetics. Served in Embrapa's Germplasm Curation Supervision (2011 to 2015) and led the Plants Network (2012 and 2015) and the new phase of the Plants Network (2016-2018), in the Portfolio of Strategic Management of Genetic Resources for Food Agriculture and Bioindustry. Was a member of the management committee of this portfolio for the same period. She served as Representative of Brazil in the Intergovernmental Working Group on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (GTTI Phytogenetics) within the FAO Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (CRGAA-FAO) in the years 2016-2018. Was the curator of the Plant DNA Bank at Embrapa Genetic Resources and Biotechnology (2009-2018). Has experience in the area of in situ and ex situ genetic conservation, molecular characterization, population genetics, molecular phylogeny and DNA barcoding.
