Paulo Cruz Terra é professor de História do Brasil República no Departamento de História, da Universidade Federal Fluminense, além de atuar no Programa de Pós-graduação em História da mesma instituição. Foi bolsista CAPES-Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung na Universität Bonn, na modalidade de "pesquisador experiente". Atualmente é Bolsista de Produtividade em Pesquisa do CNPq - Nível 2 e Jovem Cientista do Nosso Estado da FAPERJ. Foi eleito em 2022 como Membro Afiliado da Academia Brasileira de Ciência. É membro da diretoria da da ANPUH, Seção Regional Rio de Janeiro, e da diretoria da Sociedade de Estudos do Oitocentos (SEO). É um dos editores da Série "Social History of Punishment and Labour Coercion", da Amsterdam University Press. Faz parte do Conselho Editorial da Série "Work Around the Globe: Historical Comparisons and Connections", que é uma parceria da UCL do International Institute of Social History. Possui graduação em História pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2005). Finalizou o mestrado em História na Universidade Federal Fluminense, em 2007, e o doutorado na mesma instituição, em 2012. Sua tese foi premiada, e publicada, pelo Arquivo Geral da Cidade do Rio de Janeiro. Tem atuado principalmente nos seguintes temas: história do trabalho, História Global do Trabalho e história do transporte.
Paulo Cruz Terra is a professor of Brazilian Republic History at the Department of History at Universidade Federal Fluminense and works in the Graduate Program in History at the same institution. He was a CAPES-Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung scholarship holder at Universität Bonn, in the "experienced researcher" category. He is a Research Productivity Scholar from CNPq-Level 2 and a Young Scientist of Our State from FAPERJ. He was elected in 2022 as an Affiliate Member of the Brazilian Academy of Science. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the ANPUH, Rio de Janeiro Regional Section, and of the Society of Eighteenth-Century Studies (SEO). He is one of the editors of the "Social History of Punishment and Labor Coercion" Series by Amsterdam University Press. He serves on the Editorial Board of the "Work Around the Globe: Historical Comparisons and Connections" Series, a UCL partnership with the International Institute of Social History. He holds a degree in History from the State University of Campinas (2005). He completed his master's degree in History at the Fluminense Federal University in 2007 and his doctorate at the same institution in 2012. The General Archive of the City of Rio de Janeiro awarded and published his thesis. He has worked mainly on the following topics: labor history, Global Labor History and transport history.
