Mauricio Silveira

Dr. Silveira has BS degree in Mathematics from the University of São Paulo (1972), BS degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of São Paulo (1988), Masters Degree in Mathematics from the University of São Paulo (1977) and Doctoral Degree in Mathematics from the University of São Paulo (1985). He accomplished two post-doctoral programs, being the first one carried through the Department of Microwave and Optics, College of Electrical and Computer Engineering, FEEC, University of Campinas, (1991-1992), and the second one close to the College of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN, USA, (1993-1994). During the period (2001-2003), he was strongly involved with a project as a researcher collaborator in the area of Optical Communications Networks, at the Department of Communications, College of Electrical Engineering, University of Campinas. Furthermore, he developed two projects together the Department of Microwave and Optics, College of Electrical Engineering, University of Campinas, both of them related with a Researcher Scholarship with the financial support of the Brazilian Federal Institution of Research: CNPq, (1996-1999). As a Full Academic Researcher, he was Professor close to the Institutions: IME, USP, (1971-72, 1975); DM, UFSCar (1976-1995); FE, USF (1974-1975, 1996-2000); DTE, INATEL (2001-2005); FEE, PUC (2006-2012). He had some participations as an Advisor Member in some Trial Committees of projects involving innovative technologies close to the Foundation of Research of the Minas Gerais State, Fapemig, where the global financial were provided by the FINEP, FIEMG and FAPEMIG, and must be allocated for the small and medium Companies of the Electronic Valley, in the Brasil ranking. In August 2006, for his academic productivity reached in the post-doctoral program developed at the University of Minnesota and the Minnesota Supercomputer Institute, he had his name included in the Trial Committee that had the obligation to analyze all financial resources allocated for the Foundation of Research of the São Paulo State, FAPESP. In the same month his name was indicated by five (05) Fellow Members of the IEEE, all Researchers belong to others countries, for the position as a Senior Member of this Institute, that was proclaimed in some IEEE International Congress organized in Bangladesh, IN. Currently, he is with an academic process under analysis in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computing, SEL, School of Engineering, EESC, University of São Paulo, USP, in the functions of Senior Visiting Professor, with research project involving innovative technologies in Digital Signal Processing, DSP. Recently, he maintains the functions of Industrial Director (R&D) in: Advanced Technologies in Signal Processing Co., with headquarters in Campinas, (SP), Santa Rita do Sapucaí, (MG). He has experience in Electrical/Electronic/Telecommunications Engineering, in the subareas: a) Digital Systems with high Transmission Rates; (b) HDTV systems; (c) Wireless Communication Systems; Optical Communication Systems, etc..., all of them directed to Radio Frequency (RF) and Telecommunications Architectures. Dr. Silveira is a Member of the Regional Council of Engineering and Architecture of São Paulo, CREA SP and Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, IEEE, USA. He is currently an Ad Hoc Consultant of the Research Support Foundation, FAPEMIG, MG; at the National Council for Scientific Development, CNPq; at the São Paulo State Research Foundation, FAPESP, since the time he was one Associate Professor (Level IV) of the Department of Mathematics, UFSCar. Among the international journals in which he collaborates as Author, Reviewer and Associate Editor we highlight: IEEE Instrumentation & Measurements, TIM, IEEE Wireless Propagation Letter, AWPL, IEEE Transaction on Signal Processing, TSP, Journal of Circuits, Systems & Computers, JCSC.

Dr. Silveira possui graduação em Matemática pela Universidade de São Paulo (1972), graduação em Engenharia Eletrônica pela Universidade de São Paulo (1988), mestrado em Matemática pela Universidade de São Paulo (1977) e doutorado em Matemática pela Universidade de São Paulo (1985). Possui dois programas de pós-doutorado, sendo o primeiro deles realizado junto ao Departamento de Microonda e Óptica, Faculdade de Engenharia Elétrica, Unicamp, Campinas, (1991-1992), e o segundo junto ao College of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN, USA, (1993-1994). Participou de um projeto como pesquisador colaborador na área de Redes e Comunicações Ópticas junto ao Departamento de Comunicações da Faculdade de Engenharia Elétrica e Computação, Unicamp. Além disto, desenvolveu dois projetos junto ao Departamento de Microonda e Óptica, Faculdade de Engenharia Elétrica, Unicamp, com bolsa de Produtividade (PQ) do CNPq, (1996-1999). Como docente do nível superior, foi Professor nas Instituições: IME, USP, (1971-72, 1975); DM, UFSCar (1976-1995); FE, USF (1974-1975, 1996-2000); DTE, INATEL (2001-2005); FEE, PUC (2006-2012). Participou de comissões de julgamento de projetos envolvendo tecnologias inovadoras junto a Fundação de Amparo a Pesquisa do Estado de Minas Gerais, onde os recursos eram oriundos da FINEP, FIEMG e da FAPEMIG seriam alocados para pequenas e médias empresas do Vale da Eletrônica. Em Agosto de 2006, pela sua produtividade acadêmica alcançada no programa de pós-doutorado nos USA realizado na Universidade de Minnesota e no Minnesota Supercomputer Institute, ele teve o seu nome incluído em uma Comissão que iria julgar os recursos alocados pela Agência de Fomento Fundação de Amparo a Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo, FAPESP. No mesmo mês teve o seu nome indicado por 05 Fellow Members do IEEE, todos pesquisadores externos ao nosso País, para a posição de Senior Member deste Instituto, proclamada em um congresso internacional do IEEE organizado em Bangladesh, IN. Atualmente, está com processo em cadastramento no Departamento de Engenharia Elétrica e Computação, SEL, Escola de Engenharia, EESC, Universidade de São Paulo, USP, nas funções de Professor Visitante Senior, com projeto de pesquisa envolvendo tecnologias inovadoras na grande área de Processamento Digital de Sinais, DSP. Recentemente, mantem as funções de Diretor Industrial (R&D) na empresa: "Tecnologias Avançadas no Processamento de Sinais Ltda.", com sedes em Campinas, (SP) e Santa Rita do Sapucaí, (MG). Tem experiência na área de Engenharia Elétrica/Eletrônica/Telecomunicações, nas subáreas: a) Sistemas Digitais com altas Taxas de Transmissão; b) Sistemas de HDTV; c) Sistemas de Comunicação Sem Fio; Sistemas de Comunicação Óptica, etc..., todas elas direcionadas para Arquiteturas de Radio Frequência (RF) e de Telecomunicações. A área de concentração tem foco principal nas pesquisas aplicadas envolvendo tecnologias inovadoras nas linhas de pesquisa: Eletromagnetismo Aplicado, e Comunicações Digitais. Dr. Silveira é Membro do Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Arquitetura de São Paulo, CREA SP e Senior Member do Instituto de Engenheiros Elétricos e Eletrônicos, IEEE. Atualmente é Consultor Ad Hoc da Fundação de Amparo a Pesquisa do Estado de Minas Gerais, Fapemig; no Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico, CNPq, na Fundação de Amparo a Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo, FAPESP, desde o período que concluiu seu PhD. Recentemente, vem colaborando na análise de projetos envolvendo tecnologias inovadoras para a Financiadora Nacional de Estudos e Projetos, FINEP, RJ.
