Daniel Gebbran Cons Bacilla Ferreira

Electrical engineer with over ten years of applied research, four years of teaching in Engineering courses, three years of industry experience, and a diverse academic and research background, across six different countries. I am currently working on the coordination and optimization of distributed energy resources (DER). The goal of this research is to help achieve a sustainable power system by coordinating DER in such a way to provide multiple network and system services to the power grid, therefore enabling grids with high renewables penetration. I have an interest in distributed coordination and optimization of DER, as well as practical considerations for real-world deployment. I also have a more broad interest in general practical applications of research areas from Power Systems and Power Electronics. My broad area of interest is promoting a sustainable future, both in electrical systems and beyond, led by my early passion for protecting and preserving our environment. The goal I pursue is to enable the next generation of electrical systems in all its spheres, paving the way for a greener society. I believe that using new, creative methods on software, firmware, and hardware will set the foundation for enabling the topology of intelligent energy networks. Throughout my career, I have been involved in a variety of projects, which range from PV Battery deployment for UHE neutrinos detection on Antarctica with the ARIANNA Collaboration, object recognition algorithm development at the German industry SEW EURODRIVE, fiber Bragg grating thermal treatment for biodiesel sensing in the Brazilian university UTFPR, to many others.
Ph.D. em Engenharia Elétrica pela Universidade de Sydney, M.Sc. em Engenharia Eletrica e de Computacao pela University of California Irvine, pelo programa Ciência sem Fronteiras, e B.Sc. em Engenharia Elétrica com Ênfase em Eletrotécnica pela Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (UTFPR).
