Patricia Dorr de Quadros

I'm a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto Scarborough since January/2017. I have a degree in Agronomy, Master's and Ph.D. in Soil Microbiology and Biochemistry (Federal University of RS/ Brazil/ University of Florida), with expertise in plant microbiome, microbial ecology, molecular biology, and bioinformatics. My actual research is about selecting bacterial endophytes with metabolic potential to improve plants' taste, nutritional value, flavonoids, polyphenols, and flavour (production of bacterial inoculants for leafy greens growing in hydroponic/ aquaponic systems).I held the rank of Assistant Professor (2014-2016) at the Federal University of RS/ Brazil when I was also doing research on bioremediation of PAH contaminated soils.I studied for 2 years at the University of Florida (Ph.D., 2011-2013) where I studied the microbial communities of diverse ecosystems including soils (agricultural and post-coal-mined soils, swamp soil/ Everglades, FL) and atmospheric microbiome.I also have travelled to Angola, Africa, to work as a consultant agronomist and also to teach soil fertility and cropping systems management (2010-2013).In my leisure time, I love studying Astrophysics and going hike to explore nature.
graduation at Agronomia from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (2007), master's at Agronomy from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (2009) and doctorate at Soil Sciences from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (2013). Has experience in Agronomy, focusing on Agronomy, acting on the following subjects: fixação de nitrogênio, diazotróficos, densidade de plantas, sorgo and inoculação de diazotróficos.
