MARCELO FERREIRA MORENO

Marcelo Moreno is an Associate Professor at the Computer Science Department of Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) since 2011, where he is also a permanent member of the Computer Science Postgraduate Program. He holds Master (2002) and Doctorate (2008) degrees in Informatics from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). He is the Rapporteur of Question 13/16 (Multimedia application platforms and end systems for IPTV) of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU-T) and vice-chair of Study Group 16 (ITU-T SG16 Multimedia). He is a co-editor of Recommendation ITU-T H.761 "NCL and Ginga-NCL", besides other ITU recommendations and technical papers. He is also a coordinator of the Middleware Woking Group at the Brazilian Digital TV System Forum (SBTVD). His areas of interest are Operating Systems, Computer Networks and Distributed Systems, with emphasis on communication infrastructure, architecture and modelling for Multimedia Systems. Currently he also holds a productivity fellowship on technological development from CNPq (DT-2) and a Visiting Professor/Researcher position in the International Audio Laboratories Erlangen, a joint institution of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) and the Fraunhofer IIS, Germany.

Professor associado do Departamento de Ciência da Computação da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora (UFJF) desde 2011, onde integra o quadro permanente do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciência da Computação. Possui mestrado (2002) e doutorado (2008) em Informática pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). É também Relator (líder) da Questão 13/16 (Multimedia application platforms and end systems for IPTV) da União Internacional de Telecomunicações (UIT-T) e vice-chair da Comissão de Estudos 16 (UIT-T SG16 Multimedia). É co-editor da Recomendação UIT-T H.761 "NCL e Ginga-NCL", além de outras recomendações e artigos técnicos da UIT. É, ainda, coordenador do Grupo Técnico de Middleware do Forum do Sistema Brasileiro de TV Digital (SBTVD). Suas áreas de interesse são Sistemas Operacionais, Redes de Computadores e Sistemas Distribuídos, com ênfase em infraestrutura para comunicação, arquitetura e modelagem de Sistemas Multimídia. Atualmente é, ainda, bolsista de produtividade em desenvolvimento tecnológico do CNPq (DT-2) e Professor/Pesquisador Visitante no International Audio Laboratories Erlangen, instituição conjunta da Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) e Fraunhofer IIS, Alemanha.
