Marcos Amado Petroli

Doutor em história, teoria, e crítica da Arquitetura pelo Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) em Chicago, EUA (Ph.D., 2021); mestre (2014) e arquiteto/urbanista (2011) pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Pesquisa sobre estruturas arqueadas na Arquitetura Moderna americana. Foi um dos organizadores do jornal "Prometheus" (IIT, Chicago, 2016?18). Trabalhou como membro do conselho do do.co.mo.mo US/ Chicago (2017?22). Recentemente recebeu o ?Prêmio de Melhor Dissertação? (IIT, 2021), o ?Melhor Artigo Apresentado? Marcos Amado Petroli holds a doctoral degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, IL (Ph.D., 2021), and academic degrees from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil (M.Arch, 2014; B.Arch and B.Plan, 2011). Dr. Petroli's research addresses arcuated structures and the theory of modern monumentality in architecture. He has taught history and theory, design studio, and visual representation courses in both Brazil and in the United States. Former recipient of a fully-funded doctoral fellowship, sponsored by the Brazilian Council of Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), he published and presented papers in Brazil, China, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United States. During his Ph.D. studies, he was co-editor of the Prometheus Journal (IIT, Chicago, 2016?18) and a Board Member at Docomomo US/Chicago (2017?22). He recently received the ?Best Dissertation Award?
