Kerrie Farrar

I lead the Energy Crop Biology research group within the Environmental impact theme at IBERS. I have long-term research interests in the molecular mechanisms of plant growth and development. The overall aim of my current research is to increase biomass yield in Miscanthus to facilitate the transition to a sustainable low-carbon future, through both genetic and genomics approaches and a mechanistic understanding of plant-soil-microbe interactions. Research within my group utilises the extensive Miscanthus genotypic collection at Aberystwyth and involves direct interaction with both biorefining research and Miscanthus breeders.
