Alex Fernandes Bohrer

Graduated in History from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (Licenciatura/2003 and Bachelor's Degree/2004), Master's Degree in Social History of Culture from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2007), where he defended the Dissertation ?Os Diálogos de Fênix: Fontes Iconográficas, Patronage and Circularity in the Mineiro Baroque", and PhD in Social History of Culture from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2015), where he defended the thesis "The Carving of the Portuguese National Style in Minas Gerais: Sociocultural context and artistic production". He has experience in the area of ​​History, with an emphasis on History of Colonial Brazil, working mainly on the following themes: Mineiro Baroque, Iconographic Sources in Luso-Brazilian Colonial Art, Circularity and Cultural Hybridism and History of Minas Gerais. He was the founder and first president of AMIC (Associação Cultural Amigos de Cachoeira do Campo), an entity that stands out for promoting and encouraging the preservation of the historical heritage of Cachoeira do Campo, Minas Gerais. Chaired the Tourism Sectorial Chamber of Cachoeira do Campo, coordinating the "Portal Cachoeira" Project. He was Historian for the Municipality of Ouro Preto, producing a series of texts on the history of this important Brazilian city. He was a member of the Tourism Council of the municipality of Ouro Preto. He was a professor at FAOP (Fundação de Arte de Ouro Preto), where he taught the subjects ?Christian Iconography?, ?History of Brazilian Art? and ?Barroco Mineiro?. He was coordinator of CODACIS/IFMG. He was a member of the Management Board of the Casa dos Inconfidentes Museum, Ouro Preto. He was coordinator of the Laboratory of Institutional Memory at IFMG, Campus Ouro Preto. He is currently an Effective Professor at the IFMG (Federal Institute of Minas Gerais). He is a member of CEIB (Center for the Study of Brazilian Imagination). He is a member of the Heritage Council of Ouro Preto. He is the founder and coordinator of NEALUMI (Núcleo de Estudos da Arte Luso Mineira). He is the coordinator of the Conservation and Restoration Technology Course at IFMG. He has published several texts on the Baroque Mineiro and History of Ouro Preto, among them the books "Ouro Preto: A New Look", "The Discourse of the Image: Invention, Copy and Circularity in Art", "Jesus: A Brief Historical Guide for the Curious" and the co-authorship and organization of the books "Poderes e Lugares de Minas Gerais: An urban picture of the Brazilian interior, 18th-19th centuries" and "Altarpieces in Minas Gerais".

Possui experiência na área de História, com ênfase em História do Brasil Colônia, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Barroco Mineiro, Fontes Iconográficas na Arte Colonial Luso-Brasileira, Circularidade e Hibridismo Cultural e História de Minas Gerais. Foi fundador e primeiro presidente da AMIC (Associação Cultural Amigos de Cachoeira do Campo), entidade que se destaca pela promoção e incentivo à preservação do patrimônio histórico de Cachoeira do Campo, Minas Gerais. Presidiu a Câmara Setorial de Turismo de Cachoeira do Campo, coordenando o Projeto "Portal Cachoeira". Foi Historiador da Prefeitura Municipal de Ouro Preto, produzindo uma série de textos sobre a história desta importante cidade brasileira. Foi membro titular do Conselho de Turismo do município de Ouro Preto. Foi professor da FAOP (Fundação de Arte de Ouro Preto), onde lecionou as disciplinas ?Iconografia Cristã?, ?História da Arte do Brasil? e ?Barroco Mineiro?. Foi coordenador da CODACIS/IFMG. Participou do Conselho Gestor do Museu Casa dos Inconfidentes, Ouro Preto. Foi coordenador do Laboratório de Memória Institucional do IFMG, Campus Ouro Preto. Atualmente é Professor Efetivo do IFMG (Instituto Federal de Minas Gerais). É membro do CEIB (Centro de Estudos da Imaginária Brasileira). É membro titular do Conselho de Patrimônio de Ouro Preto. É fundador e coordenador do NEALUMI (Núcleo de Estudos da Arte Luso Mineira). É coordenador do Curso de Tecnologia em Conservação e Restauro do IFMG. Possui diversos textos publicados sobre Barroco Mineiro e História de Ouro Preto, entre eles cumpre destacar os livros "Ouro Preto: Um Novo Olhar", "O Discurso da Imagem: Invenção, Cópia e Circularidade na Arte", "Jesus: Um Breve Roteiro Histórico para Curiosos" e a co-autoria e organização dos livros "Poderes e Lugares de Minas Gerais: Um quadro urbano do interior brasileiro, séculos XVIII-XIX" e "Retábulos em Minas Gerais".
