Ana Lucia Benedicto Ottoni

Ana Ottoni is a photographer, architect and image researcher. Graduated in architecture and urbanism from the University of São Paulo in 1987, defended master's degree in the same institution in 2017. She is currently a doctoral student in the Department of History and Fundamentals of Architecture and Urbanism at FAUUSP. Until 1990 she worked as an independent architect in the areas of building design and urbanism. Since 1991 she has been dedicated to documentary, institutional and authorial photography, as well as to the research of photographic language in the modern and contemporary contexts. Between 1994 and 2007 she worked for the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo. As a freelance photographer, she has collaborated with several brazilian and international news media, including Bravo Magazine, Monolito Magazine, The New York Times, Le Monde. She is part of the Pirelli Collection of Photographs of the Museum of Art of São Paulo and integrates CNPq / FAUUSP Research Group Aesthetics of Memory in the 21st Century, led by Giselle Beiguelman.

Ana Ottoni é fotógrafa, arquiteta e pesquisadora da imagem. Graduada em Arquitetura e Urbanismo pela Universidade de São Paulo em 1987, defendeu mestrado na mesma instituição em 2017. Atualmente é doutoranda no Departamento de História e Fundamentos da Arquitetura e Urbanismo da FAUUSP. Até 1990 atuou como arquiteta autônoma nas áreas de projeto de edifícios e urbanismo. Desde 1991 dedica-se à fotografia documental, institucional e autoral, assim como à pesquisa da linguagem fotográfica nos contextos moderno e contemporâneo. Entre 1994 e 2007 trabalhou para o jornal Folha de S.Paulo; como fotógrafa autonôma colaborou com diversos veículos jornalísticos brasileiros e internacionais, entre eles Revista Bravo, Revista Monolito, The New York Times, Le Monde. Faz parte da Coleção Pirelli de Fotografias do Museu de Arte de São Paulo e integra Grupo de Pesquisa CNPq/FAUUSP Estéticas da Memória no Século 21, sob liderança de Giselle Beiguelman.
