Luciana Lourenço Arraes
Brazilian violinist Luciana Arraes keeps an active performing and teaching career. She has been a member of several orchestras in Brazil and internationally has been part of the Youth Orchestra of the Americas (YOA), The World Orchestra (Spain), and the Orchestre de la Francophonie (Canada). Luciana is a graduate from YOA?s ?Global Leaders? social entrepreneur training program. Luciana holds a Doctorate in Violin Performance from The Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford, a Master?s in violin performance from the University of Massachusetts ?Amherst and a Bachelor?s degree in violin from the University of São Paulo. She is a Suzuki-certified violin teacher, having done the long-term training at The Hartt School of Music, with Teri Einfeldt. She has also done additional training with Alen Lieb, Christie Felsing, Pat D?Ecole, Ann Montzka-Smelser and Mark Mutter. Luciana was in the the Suzuki Violin and Viola Faculty at The Hartt School Community Division at the University of Hartford and at the Kent School. Dr. Arraes is currently a violinist in the Claudio Santoro National Theater Symphony Orchestra in Brazil?s capital, Brasilia, and keeps a private Suzuki studio in addition to her orchestral work as well as a her chamber work with her husband, pianist Jonathan Moyer, in the Arraes-Moyer duo concertizing often across the U.S. and Brazil.
Possui graduação em Bacharelado em Música Habilitação em Violino pela Universidade de São Paulo (2005), mestrado em Master of Music Violin Performance - University of Massachusetts Amherst (2010) e doutorado em Doctor of Musical Arts: Violin Performance - University Of Hartford (2017). Atualmente é músico, violinista - Orquestra Sinfônica do Teatro Nacional Cláudio Santoro.
