Rodrigo da Rocha Olivieri de Barros

At the end of 2016 he obtained the title of pHD in Biochemistry from the Chemistry Institute of UFRJ where he has also concluded his Master Degree in the same area (2012). In 2010 he was graduated in chemical engineering certified by the School of Chemistry of UFRJ. Today he works as Substitute Professor at the Department of Biochemical Engineering (DEB) at the School of Chemistry at UFRJ (EQ-UFRJ) in the Biochemical Engineering and Industrial Biotechnology sector and is also a member of the research group at the Bioethanol Laboratory / COPPE - IQ / UFRJ, coordinated by Professor Elba Bon. He has experience in the areas of cellulase production by submerged fermentation, pre-treatment of vegetal biomass, enzyme concentration by ultrafiltration and life cycle analysis. In 2007, he was part of the winning team of the SIMBIO Young Researcher award with the theme: Production of Second Generation Ethanol: development of efficient enzymes for the enzymatic hydrolysis of biomass from sugarcane fermentation and sugar fermentation. In 2010, she was a JICA Trainee, living for a year in Japan, where she experimented with her master's dissertation-related experiments. In 2012, he participated in a training course in the area of ​​life cycle analysis (LCA) at Fraunhofer-UMSICHT, in Oberhausen, Germany, for 3 months.

Obteve no final de 2016 o título de Doutor em Bioquímica pelo Instituto de química da UFRJ onde também cursou o seu mestrado (2012) na mesma área tendo como formação básica de graduação a engenharia química certificado pela Escola de Química da UFRJ (2010). Atualmente atua como Professor Substituto do Departamento de Engenharia Bioquímica (DEB) da Escola de Química da UFRJ (EQ-UFRJ) no setor de Engenharia Bioquímica e Biotecnologia Industrial e também faz parte do grupo de pesquisas do Laboratório Bioetanol / COPPE - IQ / UFRJ, coordenado pela professora Elba Bon. Possui experiência nas áreas de produção de celulases por fermentação submersa, pré-tratamento de biomassas vegetais, análise composicional de biomassas vegetais, concentração de enzimas por ultrafiltração e análise de ciclo de vida. Em 2007, integrou a equipe vencedora do prêmio SIMBIO Jovem Pesquisador com o Tema: Produção de Etanol de Segunda Geração: desenvolvimento de enzimas eficientes para a hidrólise enzimática da biomassa da cana-de-açúcar e fermentação dos hidrolisados. Em 2010 foi Trainee da JICA, vivendo durante um ano no Japão, onde realizou os seus experimentos relacionados a dissertação de mestrado. Em 2012, participou de um treinamento na área de análise de ciclo de vida (LCA) no Fraunhofer-UMSICHT, em Oberhausen, Alemanha, durante 3 meses.
