Marly Montero Muñoz

Obtained her B.Sc. in Physical Engineer from University of Cauca - Colombia and her master and Ph.D. in Physics from University of Brasilia - Brasil. She has experience in the areas of condensed matter physics and materials science, working mainly in the characterization of materials by: X-ray diffraction, electron Microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), UV-VIS spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), among others; and in the study and enhancing of the photocatalytic activity of ZnO nanostructures through a well-controlled size and morphology. She has experience in the synthesis and growth of nanomaterials, colloidal quantum dots, and semiconductor nanoparticles and nanostructures through a soft chemical routes. Author of one book in the area of heterogeneous catalysis and some articles in research journals on ZnO applications. Her current research includes the study of the advanced oxidation process - including the photocatalytic activity of ZnO nanostructures - and their applications in the photodegradation of organic molecules of wasted water.
