João Lucas Faco Tziminadis

João Tziminadis is research assistent at the Max-Weber-Kolleg of the Universität Erfurt and PhD student in the realm of the International Graduate School 'Resonant Self-World Relations in Ancient and Modern Socio-Religious Practices'. BA and MA in Social Sciences by São Paulo State University. He is currently developing a project on emergent technologies in the field of anti-ageing medicine and its significance in co-producing practices and processes of death symbolization in modern culture. In previous research, João worked with the theme of time experience in late modernity and with the concept of 'social acceleration' developed by German sociologist Hartmut Rosa. Sub-fields of interest for the current research project are: Science and Technology Studies (STS), Medical Sociology and Sociology of Death and Dying.

É pesquisador assistente no Max-Weber-Kolleg da Universität Erfurt e doutorando no programa ?International Graduate School ? Bacharel e mestre em Ciências Sociais pela UNESP (Araraquara), desenvolve projeto acerca das tecnologias emergentes no campo da medicina antienvelhecimento e analisa seu significado na co-produção de práticas e processos de simbolização da morte na cultura moderna. Previamente desenvolveu projeto sobre a experiência do tempo na modernidade tardia e sobre o conceito de aceleração na obra do sociólogo alemão Hartmut Rosa. Subáreas atravessadas pela atual pesquisa são: Science and Technology Studies (STS), Sociologia Médica e Sociologia da Morte.
