Bachelor's Medicine Veterinary: Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul - Brazil (2006). Masters: Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul - Brazil (2010). PhD: University College Dublin - Ireland (2012-2014)I am a Veterinarian, M.Sc., with research experience in Pig Nutrition and Reproduction, Molecular Biology analysis, including immunological and microbiological gene expression, Veterinary Histology and Anatomy. Currently I am a Ph.D. student of the School of Agriculture and Food Science, at University College Dublin, and I expect to submit my thesis by December 2014. In my research I explore the effect of seaweed-derived polysaccharides on pig growth performance and intestinal health and immune status. Beyond my research experience I have been fortunate to obtain teaching experience. My teaching roles have included demonstrator, facilitator and guest lecturer in Veterinary Anatomy, Veterinary Histology, Swine Reproduction Techniques, and Animal Reproduction Management. In my experience, the best teaching involves theory lessons and the maximum laboratory/ practical participation possible. I have didactic, organizational and communicative skills for teaching at an academic level, improved by Teaching Internship courses during my Masters.
