Doutor em Letras Vernáculas pela Faculdade de Letras da UFRJ (2003), com Pós-Doutorado em Estudos Culturais (2015), desenvolvido no Programa Avançado de Cultura Contemporânea, na UFRJ (PACC-UFRJ). Mestre em Letras Vernáculas também pela Faculdade de Letras da UFRJ (1996). Graduado (Licenciado e Bacharelado) em História pelo Instituto de Filosofia e Ciências Sociais (IFCS) da UFRJ (1984). Professor assistente, D.E., do Departamento de Ensino Superior (DESU) do Instituto Nacional de Educação de Surdos (INES), na Faculdade Bilíngue de Pedagogia (ingresso em 2007). Pesquisador do Grupo de Pesquisa NARRATIVAS SOBRE SURDEZ, HISTÓRIA E SOCIEDADE (INES), líder deste grupo. Investiga aspectos da produção literária, especialmente, brasileira contemporânea nos quais se destacam os temas da ?diferença?, da "identidade", do ?estigma? e das "margens", adotando uma perspectiva filosófica transdisciplinar, próxima do pensamento complexo. Tem-se dedicado a desenvolver uma reflexão teórica sobre a redução do fenômeno literário a seus aspectos utilitários, pedagógicos ou ideológicos. Estuda as tensões entre os cânones literário e artístico e a temática das margens. Reflete ainda sobre os conceitos de "Cultura e Literatura Surdas? e sobre seus usos pedagógicos/identitários. Busca desenvolver releituras críticas do discurso multiculturalista, dos movimentos sociais das minorias e do associativismo civil da sociedade contemporânea globalizada e do problema da ?identidade?. Atua também como escritor, agitador cultural, dramaturgo, poeta e criador de letras de música popular. Dirigiu o Grupo de Teatro Corpo Surdo, Gesto Teatral. Fundamentalmente, é escritor e professor. Não faz distinções binárias entre escrever, dar aulas e publicar reflexões teóricas, poemas e demais textos literários e artísticos (para adultos ou para crianças), toda criação (artística ou científica) é obra do pensamento e do sentimento.

Although , today , closer to a genealogical perspective , continues to reflect on aspects of the social history of ideas and culture . The subjects who teaches at the Graduate School of Bilingual Pedagogy are: Discursive practices and linguistic specificities ; Appropriations language ; Texts and pretexts ; Corporeality , Culture and Discourse. Graduated in History from the Institute of Philosophy and Social Sciences ( IFCS ) of UFRJ (1984 ) , MSc (1996 ) and Ph.D. (2003 ) in Vernacular Letters from the Faculty of Letters of the UFRJ . Has experience in the area of Arts , with an emphasis on Brazilian Literature and currently has been devoted to developing a theoretical reflection on the literary phenomenon to reduce their utilities , pedagogical and ideological aspects . Examines the tensions between the literary and artistic canons and margins . Still reflects on the concepts of " Deaf Culture and Literature " and on their pedagogical / identity uses. Develops , a socio - discursive perspective , studies on " textual and literary genres " around the expansion of the concept of "text " and the possibilities of " written " in literary in Libras with filmic support .
