Dominik Lenz

He holds a PhD in veterinary medicine and has experience in cytometry, image analysis and quantitative imaging. He has performed quantitative tissue cytometry using tissue sections of brains of patients suffering from Alzheimer?s disease. These data he compared to those from brain sections of patients not suffering from neurologic diseases. Additionally he performs shape analysis. With self-developed algorithms, he established a method for an analysis of morphology ahead of its time in terms of accuracy and speed. Bovine aorta endothelial cells were exposed to three different levels of shear stress. With the applied algorithms it is not only possible to find differences in morphology but to predict the amount of shear stress to which a cell was exposed. Using shape analysis he also lately evaluated an assay to detect apoptosis using texture parameters of stained nuclei, i.e. without a specific staining.
graduate at Medicina Veterinaria from Veterinarian Faculty Leipzig (1997), graduate at Medicina Veterinaria from Veterinarian Faculty Budapest (1993) and ph.d. at Veterinarian from Universität Leipzig (2000). Has experience in Veterinary Medicine, focusing on Veterinary Medicine
