Ana Luiza Villela de Viana Bandeira

Advogada, graduada em Direito pela Escola de Direito da Fundação Getulio Vargas de São Paulo em 2014, mestre em Antropologia Social do Departamento de Antropologia Social da Universidade de São Paulo (PPGAS - USP). Foi pesquisadora do Instituto de Defesa do Direito de Defesa (IDDD) e da Rede Justiça Criminal. Foi vinculada ao Núcleo de Antropologia do Direito da USP (Nadir), do Núcleo de Estudos do Crime da Pena da FGV-SP e Secretária-Executiva da Plataforma Memória Massacre Carandiru. Coordenou o Innocence Project Brasil, organização dedicada a reverter condenações de pessoas inocentes. Foi assessora em audiência de custódia do Escritório das Nações Unidas sobre Drogas e Crimes (UNODC). É autora do livro "Audiência de custódia: percepções morais sobre violência policial e quem é vítima", publicado em 2020 pela Editora Letramento. Recebeu Menção Honrosa no Prêmio Lia Zanotta Machado em Direitos Humanos da ANPOCS, em 2022.Atualmente trabalha como Chefe de Gabinete da Secretaria Nacional de Política sobre Drogas do Ministério da Justiça e Segurança Pública do Brasil.

Lawyer, graduated in Law from the Getulio Vargas Foundation School of Law in São Paulo in 2014, Master in Social Anthropology from the Department of Social Anthropology of the University of São Paulo (PPGAS - USP). She was a researcher at the Institute for the Defense of the Right to Defense (IDDD) and the Criminal Justice Network. She was linked to the Center for the Anthropology of Law at USP (Nadir), the Center for the Study of Crime and Penalty at FGV-SP and Executive Secretary of the Carandiru Massacre Memory Platform. She coordinated the Innocence Project Brasil, an organization dedicated to reversing convictions of innocent people. She was an advisor on custody hearings for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). She is the author of the book "Custody hearings: moral perceptions of police violence and who is a victim", published in 2020 by Editora Letramento. She received an Honorable Mention in the Lia Zanotta Machado Award in Human Rights from ANPOCS, in 2022.She currently works as Chief of Staff of the National Secretariat for Drug Policy of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security of Brazil.
