Oureste Elias Batista

Oureste E. Batista was born in Goiânia, Goiás, GO, BR in 1988. He received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of São Paulo, São Carlos, SP, Brazil, in 2011, 2013, and 2016, respectively, and from 2013 to 2016, he was a Consultant for Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Comercial Ltda (SEL Brazil) working as Instructor and Content Developer, Reviewer, and Translator of SEL University (SELU) Power Systems Protection courses. Since 2016, he has been an Adjunct Professor with the Electrical Engineering Department, Federal University of Espírito Santo, Technology Center. He is the author of the Distributed Generation course at SEL University, Brazil, with more than 50 articles. His research interests include power system modeling and simulation, distributed generation, photovoltaic systems, power system protection, fault location, and artificial neural network applications. Dr. Batista was a recipient of the Regional Council of Engineering and Agronomy of the State of São Paulo (CREA-SP) Professional Training Award in 2011 for the first time in the electrical engineering class (emphasis on power systems and industrial automation) in 2007.
