José Ricardo Lima Pinto

Degree in Agronomy from the Federal University of Paraíba (2016). Master in Agricultural Entomology from FCAV/UNESP, Jaboticabal, SP (2018) and is in the process of completing his PhD also in Agricultural Entomology from FCAV/UNESP, Jaboticabal, SP with part of the research developed at Montana State University, Bozeman, USA. He is currently a substitute professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), where he is a professor in the undergraduate courses in Agronomy, Forestry Engineering and Veterinary Medicine; Data specialist at Oxitec do Brasil where he is responsible for the acquisition and processing of data from research carried out in the United States and Brazil. He has experience in the field of Agronomy, with an emphasis on Agricultural Entomology. He works mainly on the following topics: Applied Ecology to Insects, Biological Pest Control and Integrated Precision Pest Management through the use of artificial intelligence and geospatial analysis.

Graduação em Agronomia pela Universidade Federal da Paraíba (2016). Mestre em Entomologia Agrícola pela FCAV/UNESP, Jaboticabal, SP (2018) e também Doutor em Entomologia Agrícola pela mesma universidade (2022). Durante o doutorado foi bolsista CAPES-PRINT - PROGRAMA INSTITUCIONAL DE INTERNACIONALIZAÇÃO, com parte da pesquisa desenvolvida na Montana State University, Bozeman, EUA (2020-2021). Tem experiência na área de Agronomia, com ênfase em Entomologia Agrícola. Atua principalmente nos seguintes temas: Ecologia Aplicada a Insetos, Controle Biológico de Pragas e Manejo Integrado de Pragas de precisão por meio do uso de inteligência artificial e análises geoespaciais.
