Gary James Blomquist

Professor and former Chair of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Nevada, Reno, NV, USA. He holds a BS in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin, LaCrosse (1969) and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Chemistry from Montana State University (1973). His work was quoted more than 4500 times (ISI). Most of his research career was devoted to the study of insect hydrocarbons, with bioinformatics, endocrine regulation and chemical analysis. He published his first article on hydrocarbon insects in 1969 and has been permanently active in this field, collaborating over the years with several researchers in the field including Larry Jackson , Dennis Nelson, Ralph Howard, Coby Schal and Anne-Geneviève Bagnères.
