Graduated in Medicine at the University of São Paulo Medical School (USPMS, from 1996 to 2001, six years course, weighted average 8.0, highest score 10). Completed a Residency in Neurosurgery at the USPMS (2002 - 2007, five years course, weighted average 9.25, highest score 10). During the residence, was Coordinator of the Local Multicenter Randomized Study CRASH, based in London, on the use of corticosteroids in head injury, published in the Lancet in 2004. Received the Harvey Award for Best Academic Performance by the Division of Neurosurgery - USPMS in 2004. Served as Chief Resident in 2006, and Preceptor of Neurosurgery in 2007. Became a specialist in Neurosurgery by the Brazilian Medical Association and the Brazilian Society of Neurosurgery in 2007 (Full Member). Received the ECFMG Certificate in 2008 after aproval in the USMLE Steps 1, 2CK, and 2CS (Houston, EUA). Completed a Research Fellowship in Neurotherapeutics at the Harvard Medical School / Massachusetts General Hospital between 2008 and 2009 in Boston, USA, and received the Certificate of Excellence from that institution. The resulting work on Intraoperative Physiology of the Cingulate Gyrus was published in Biological Psychiatry in 2009 and presented orally at the "50th Anniversary Meeting of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology - ACNP" in 2011 in Hawaii, USA. Completed a Ph.D. (Doctoral Thesis) at the USPMS in October 2013, conducting research on the neurosurgical treatment of OCD, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Euripedes Constantino Miguel Filho. Acts professionally as neurosurgeon at the Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, were also participates in teaching appointments with the Albert Einstein's Medical Graduation Course, Pos-Gradutation, Surgical Training e Experimental Centre and Realistic Simulation Centre. Active member of "Assistant Medical Groups" in Trauma, Neuro-oncolgy and Critical Care. Fluent in English (8.5/9 score on the IELTS exam, Cambridge, British Council, 2015), having visited neurosurgical centers in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Australia.
