Elizabeth Ferreira Cardoso Ribeiro Azevedo

Professora sênior Livre Docente na Escola de Comunicações e Artes (ECA) da Universidade de São Paulo. Bacharel em História pela Faculdade de Filosofia, Letras e Ciências Humanas da Universidade de São Paulo (1983), obteve grau de Mestre em Artes na ECA/USP, em 1995, com a dissertação Um Palco Sob as Arcadas. Em 1997, foi contemplada com uma Bolsa de Estudos Vitae de Artes. Em 2002, doutorou-se em Artes, pela ECA/USP, com a tese Recursos Estilísticos na Dramaturgia de Jorge Andrade. No ano seguinte, passou a pesquisar a Companhia de Revistas Sebastião Arruda em São Paulo nas primeiras décadas do século XX. Entre 2003 e 2020, foi professora de História do Teatro Brasileiro e História das Artes Cênicas no Departamento de Artes Cênicas (CAC) da ECA/USP. É orientadora no Programa de Pós-graduação em Artes Cênicas da ECA desde 2004. Em 2005, participou como coordenadora de pesquisadora no projeto Traje em Cena, que organizou o acervo de figurinos do Theatro Municipal de São Paulo, com apoio da Fundação Vitae. Entre 2012 e 2014, coordenou a pesquisa Inventário da Cena Paulistana, sobre a história dos antigos edifícios teatrais em São Paulo entre 1850 e 1930, com apoio FAPESP e Condephaat . Em 2016, concluiu Pós-doutorado na Universidade de Lisboa com a pesquisa sobre o ensaiador francês do século XIX Emílio Doux. Em 2020, obteve o título de Professora Livre Docente pela ECA/USP com a tese Emílio Doux, trajetória de um ensaiador francês rumo aos trópicos. Elabora a segunda etapa da pesquisa Inventário da Cena Paulistana, sobre a história dos antigos edifícios teatrais em São Paulo entre 1930 e 1955, com apoio FAPESP e CNPq . É vice coordenadora do Centro de Documentação Teatral da ECA/USP (2021), de onde foi coordenadora entre 2004 e 2021.
