Tarson Núñez

Doctor and master in Political Sciences at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul with undergaduate degree in History on the same university. Professional experience in public management and advisoring social movements like workers unions and urban and rural movements. In the eighties worked as techinicall advisor for the Trade Unions Central of Rio Grande do Sul (1986/1988), in the nineties worked as techicall advisor at the state parliament and then as the coordinator of the Planning Office at the municipal government of Porto Alegre (1993). Director of the Urban and Regional Development Department of the Secretary of Planning of the state government of Rio Grande do Sul (2000/2002) and coordinator of the Cooperation and International Relations Advisory at the office of the governor of the state (2011/2014). Worked as a consultant of the Urban Management Program for Latin America and the Caribean of UN-Habitat and in research projects for the World Bank, University College of London and UN-FAO. Research areas: Democracy, citizens participation, International Relations, creative economy, cultural industries, social movements, Public policies, popular participation in public management, participatory budgeting, strikes an Latin America history. From december 2014 to this day works as analyst researcher in Political Sciences at the Foudation of Economics and Statistics of the state of Rio Grande do Sul.

Doutor em Ciência Política pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (2016), possui mestrado em Ciência Política e graduação em Licenciatura em História pela mesma universidade (1984). Tem experiência prática profissional na área de Gestão Pública e assessoria a movimentos sociais na área sindical e junto a movimentos sociais urbanos. Foi assessor da CUT RS, assessor parlamentar na Assembléia Legislativa do RS, coordenador do Gabinete de Planejamento da Prefeitura Municipal de Porto Alegre (1993), Diretor do Departamento de Desenvolvimento Regional e Urbano da Secretaria de Planejamento do estado do Rio Grande do Sul (2000/2002) e coordenador da Assessoria de Cooperação e Relações Internacionais do Gabinete do Governador do estado do Rio Grande do Sul (2011/2014). Atuou como consultor do Programa de Gestão Urbana para a América Latina e o Caribe da UN-Habitat e em projetos para o Banco Mundial, para a University College, de Londres e para a FAO. Atuação acadêmica e profissional focada nos seguintes temas: democracia, participação cidadã, relações internacionais, economia criativa, indústria cultural, movimentos sociais, políticas públicas, participação popular na gestão pública, orçamento participativo, greves e história da América Latina. Atualmente atua como analista pesquisador em Ciência Política na Fundação de Economia e Estatística (FEE) do estado do Rio Grande do Sul.
