Hugo Sica de Andrade

Holds a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), a M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), a M.Sc. degree in Software Engineering from Mälardalens University (Sweden), a licentiate and a Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology (Sweden). Has experience in the area of Computer Science, focusing on Software Engineering and working mainly on the following aspects: software architecture, software deployment, self-driving vehicles (i.e., cyber-physical systems), heterogeneous computing, software product lines and risk management. During high school, he was an exchange student for one year at the Dacula High School (USA). In 2013, he was awarded with a scholarship under the Linnaeus-Palme agreement, financed by the government of Sweden. He is a former Business Analyst at the Brazilian IT company for Social Security services (DATAPREV) in Brasília (Brazil). Hugo has participated in and organized multiple research conferences around the world in the area of software engineering. In 2017, he was selected -- along with 9 other PhD students worldwide -- to receive a scholarship by ACM and attend the Turing Award conference in San Francisco (USA). Since 2021, Hugo works as a Product Owner and Test Leader at Ericsson (Gothenburg, Sweden), in the area of telecommunications (core networks).

Possui graduação em Ciência da Computação pela Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG), mestrado em Ciência da Computação pela Universidade Federal da Bahia (UFBA), mestrado em Engenharia de Software pela Mälardalens Högskola (Suécia),licenciatura e doutorado em Ciência e Engenharia da Computação pela Chalmers Tekniska Högskola (Suécia). Tem experiência na área de Ciência da Computação, com ênfase em Engenharia de Software, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: arquitetura de software, implantação de sistemas, veículos autônomos (i.e., cyber-physical systems), computação heterogênea, linhas de produto de software, e gerenciamento de risco. Durante o ensino médio, foi intercambista durante um ano letivo na Dacula High School em Atlanta (EUA). Em 2013, foi bolsista pelo projeto de cooperação Linnaeus-Palme, financiado pelo governo da Suécia. Trabalhou em Brasília (DF) como Analista de Negócios na Empresa de Tecnologia e Informações da Previdência Social (DATAPREV). Hugo participou e organizou diversos eventos científicos ao redor do mundo na área de Engenharia de Software. Em 2017, foi selecionado -- juntamente a outros 9 doutorandos no mundo -- a receber uma bolsa da ACM para participar da conferência Turing Award em São Franciso (EUA). Desde 2021, Hugo atua como Product Owner e Líder de Testes na Ericsson (Gotemburgo, Suécia) na área de telecomunicações (core networks).
