Graduated in Geography from the Pontifical Catholic University of Goiás (1987), Master in Education from the Federal University of Goiás (1996), PhD in Human Geography from the University of São Paulo (2001) and Post-Doctorate in Occupational Health from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz/RJ). He is currently Full Professor at the Institute of Socio-environmental Studies, Federal University of Goiás (IESA/UFG). He is the Coordinator of the Center for Studies and Research Space, Subject and Existence "Dona Alzira". It maintains working partnerships with institutions in Mozambique/Africa, Cuba, Chile and Germany. Coordinates research projects funded by CNPq, CAPES and FAPEG. It develops works related to the territorial approach of the Cerrado; health, work and territory; existential cartographies of People with Disabilities; Geography, literature and art. It has a productivity scholarship :Productivity in Research - PQ - 2 with the title: THE PRODUCTION OF HEALTHY FOODS IN THE CERRADO GOIANO: proposals for the food sovereignty of the peoples, by the Execution institution: Federal University of Goiás.

É Coordenador do Núcleo de Estudos e Pesquisas Espaço, Sujeito e Existência "Dona Alzira". Mantém parcerias de trabalho com instituições em Moçambique/África, Cuba, Chile e Alemanha. Coordena projetos de pesquisas financiados pelo CNPq, CAPES e FAPEG. Desenvolve trabalhos ligados à abordagem territorial do Cerrado; saúde, trabalho e território; cartografias existenciais de Pessoas com Deficiência; Geografia, literatura e arte. Possui bolsa produtividade :Produtividade em Pesquisa - PQ - 2 com o título: A PRODUÇÃO DE ALIMENTOS SAUDÁVEIS NO CERRADO GOIANO: propostas para a soberania alimentar dos povos, pela instituição de Execução: Universidade Federal de Goiás.
