Ana Santos Pereira nasceu em Braga, em 1991, tendo concluído a sua Licenciatura em Biologia Aplicada e Mestrado em Genética Molecular na mesma cidade, na Universidade do Minho.
Defendeu, em 2022, o seu Doutoramento em Envelhecimento e Doenças Crónicas, também na Universidade do Minho, tendo como principal foco da sua investigação a diversidade genética e a evolução do vírus da imunodeficiência humana (VIH).
Pretende continuar a investigar os mecanismos de infeção e evolução epidemiológica deste e outros agentes patogénicos, procurando ter, de alguma maneira, um impacto positivo na sociedade, através do seu trabalho.
Ana Santos Pereira was born in Braga, in 1991, concluding her Bachelor's degree in Applied Biology and her Masters' degree in Molecular Genetics, in the same city, at the University of Minho.
In 2022, she defended her PhD in Aging and Chronic Diseases, also at the University of Minho, aiming at understanding the genetic diversity and the evolution of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
She intends to continue to investigate the mechanisms of infection and epidemiological evolution of HIV and other pathogens, hoping to have, in some way, a positive impact on society, through her work.
