Has experience in Agronomy, focusing on Soil Fertilization, acting on the following subjects: vermicompostagem, resíduos agroindustriais, substâncias húmicas, crescimento and resíduos orgânicos.

Researcher since 2020 at the Forschungszentrum Jülich, Instituto of Bio- and Geosciences - Agrosphere (IBG-3), Germany. His research is focused on soil organic matter dynamics and nutrient use efficiency in soils from Brazilian Amazon, agricultural, pasture, and forest soils and degraded soils (particularly post-mining soils).Subtopics of his research include: soil organic matter protection mechanisms and mean residence time; biochar; soil incubation; composting of animal and vegetable waste; greenhouse gas and NH3 emission; nitrogen use efficiency (15N-labeling); aggregates formation; and different techniques for characterization of soil organic matter as Pyrolysisgas chromatographymass spectrometry , FTIR, 13C-RMN, thermogravimetric analysis, lase-induced fluorescence, 13C-isotope signature.Research Grants: Travel Awards 2014 and Training Awards (2020) - International Humic Substances Society; Return Fellowship (2018) and Renewed Research Stay (2020) - Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.Previous professional experiences: Professor at Instituto Federal Catarinense; researcher at Universidade Federal de Santa Maria and Forschugszentrum Jülich, Instituto of Bio- and Geosciences - Plant Sciences (IBG-2).
