João Marôco (Ph. D., Washington State University) is an associate professor of ISPA-IU (www.ispa.pt) where he teaches courses in Statistics, Research Methods and Data Analysis in the B.Sc, M.Sc. and Ph.D. cycles of study. He is invited associate professor of the doctoral program of business and administration at the Nova School of Business. He has been invited to perform more than 40 lectures and workshops in Portugal an abroad on Statistical Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling. His research interests include psychometric scale evaluation and development, large-scale student assessments and applications of regression, structural equation modeling and multivariate statistical classification methods in the biological as well as in the social and human sciences. He has published more than 300 papers in peer-reviewed journals and more than 50 papers in proceedings of events, has 27 book chapters and 17 books. He has given more than 200 oral and poster presentations in conferences both at Portugal and aboard. He oriented/co-oriented nine doctoral theses and two M.Sc. dissertations in the areas of Plant Biology, Psychology and the Social Sciences. He also served as a Juror for more than 70 academic Juries. In his professional activities, he has interacted with more than 500 collaborators in co-authorship of scientific papers, book chapters, books and oral and poster presentations in international and national conferences.
