Luísa Reis de Castro

Luísa Reis de Castro (Reis-Castro) é pós-doutoranda na Society of Fellows in the Humanities da University of Southern California (USC), vinculada ao Departamento de Antropologia. Atualmente também integra o USC Dornsife Center on Science, Technology and Public Life. Em agosto de 2023, Reis-Castro começará como Assistant Professor (Professora Adjunta) de Antropologia no Departamento de Antropologia da USC. Em 2021, ela obteve seu doutorado no programa de History, Anthropology, and Science, Technology, & Society (HASTS) do Massachusetts Institute of Technology, nos Estados Unidos. Reis-Castro possui MA (mestrado) em Studies on Society, Science and Technology (2011) e MSc (mestrado) em Cultures of Arts, Science and Technology (2012) pela Maastricht University, na Holanda, e bacharelado em Ciências Sociais pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2010). Com base em sua formação interdisciplinar, o trabalho de Reis-Castro examina as relações entre humanos e não humanos na interface da ciência, saúde e meio ambiente em um mundo interdependente e desigual, cada vez mais afetado pela atividade humana.

Luísa Reis-Castro (Reis de Castro) is a postdoctoral fellow in the University of Southern California?s (USC) Society of Fellows in the Humanities, hosted by USC?s Anthropology Department and affiliated with the USC Dornsife Center on Science, Technology and Public Life. In August 2023, Reis-Castro will start as an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at USC?s Anthropology Department. In 2021, she received her PhD from the Program in History, Anthropology, and Science, Technology, & Society (HASTS), at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in the United States. Before that Reis-Castro completed both a MA (mestrado) em Studies on Society, Science and Technology (2011) and a MSc (mestrado) em Cultures of Arts, Science and Technology (2012) pela Universidade de Maastricht, na Holanda, e graduação em Ciências Sociais pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2010), no Brasil. Drawing on her interdisciplinary training, Reis-Castro's work examines human-nonhuman relations at the interface of science, health, and the environment in an interdependent, unequal world increasingly affected by human activity.
