MARIA HELENA DE ARAUJO MELO

Possui graduação em Medicina pela Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro - UNIRIO (1980), mestrado em Otorrinolaringologia pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ (1990), doutorado em Pesquisa Clinica em Doenças Infecciosas pela Fundação Oswaldo Cruz - FIOCRUZ (2010) e pós doutorado em Medicina do Sono pela Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro - UNIRIO (2017), tendo desenvolvido o trabalho de campo na Universidade do Minho (UM) em Braga, Portugal. Atualmente é professor associado IV da Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO); membro permanente dos programas de pós graduação em neurologia (PPGNEURO) e em medicina (PPGMED), ambos da Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO); pesquisadora responsável do laboratório de sono da Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (LabSonoHUGG - UNIRIO). Tem experiência na área de Medicina, com ênfase em Otorrinolaringologia, cirurgia da base do crânio e Medicina do Sono, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: síndrome da apneia do sono, polissonografia, cirurgia otorrinolaringológia avançada.

She graduated in medicine from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro - UNIRIO (1980), Master in Otorhinolaryngology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ (1990) and doctorate in Clinical Research in Infectious Diseases by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation - IPECFIOCRUZ (2010 ). Post Doctorate in progress in Sleep Medicine area, with the institution generating the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro and the host institution the University of Minho in Braga, Portugal. She is currently Associate Professor of State Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, a researcher responsible for Sleep Laboratory - LabSonoHUGG, in the Gaffrée Guinle University Hosptal. Permanent teacher of graduate programs in medicine (PPGMED) and Neurology (PPGNEURO) of the Federal University the State of Rio de Janeiro - UNIRIO. She has experience in the area of medicine, with emphasis on ENT and Sleep Medicine, acting on the following topics: ENT surgery with emphasis on nasal-sinus segment and Research in Sleep Medicine.
