A proposta deste trabalho teve como objetivo em investigar a relação entre os processos e condições de trabalho no setor naval de produção e os agravos à saúde dos trabalhadores inseridos nestes espaços, tendo o Sindicado dos Metalúrgicos do Rio de Janeiro (Sindimetal-Rio) como campo de pesquisa. Investigação esta que se propôs a discutir os impactos à força de trabalho do setor naval, sobretudo a partir do cenário de revitalização das indústrias de construção e reparação naval, num contexto em que é disseminado, de forma cada vez mais ampliada, o discurso da "geração de empregos" desarticulado de uma avaliação sobre a qualidade dos postos e das condições de trabalho nesse setor produtivo. Este trabalho constitui estudo de caráter exploratório, com base em revisão teórico-bibliográfica de autores representativos do debate sobre o tema, pesquisa documental a dados oficiais, bem como a documentos, informações e experiências socializadas pelo Sindimetal-Rio sobre a luta por avanços no que diz respeito à saúde dos trabalhadores. Dessa forma, o projeto visou analisar o setor naval e suas particularidades, em especial no município do Rio de Janeiro. Foram utilizadas, ainda, como procedimento metodológico, entrevistas semiestruturadas com trabalhadores da indústria naval, que contribuíram com informações e depoimentos, a fim de apreender as percepções que envolvem a problemática da saúde e do adoecimento destes sujeitos em sua relação com os processos e condições de trabalho. As entrevistas foram realizadas, também, com os sindicalistas metalúrgicos, a fim de situar suas percepções e processos de luta em torno de melhores condições de trabalho nesse ramo produtivo e, consequentemente, para a saúde dos trabalhadores. Submetido e aprovado na Comissão de Ética em Pesquisa da UERJ, pretende-se contribuir, assim, não somente para a produção de conhecimento em âmbito acadêmico-científico, mas também proporcionar uma maior aproximação quanto à visibilidade do processo saúde-doença dos trabalhadores navais no sentido de contribuir para subsidiar futuras alternativas e melhorias nas condições de trabalho nesse espaço laboral, pois, afinal, os resultados evidenciaram que os processos, condições e relações de trabalho e emprego na indústria naval têm trazido rebatimentos significativos à saúde dos trabalhadores.
The purpose of this study aimed to investigate the relationship between processes and working conditions in the shipping sector production and health problems of workers employed in these spaces, with the Metalworkers Union of Rio de Janeiro (Sindimetal-Rio). Research this it proposed to discuss the impact on the workforce of the shipping sector, especially from the revitalization scenario of the shipping and repair industries, in a context where it is widespread, increasingly expanded form, the speech of "job creation", disarticulated an assessment about quality of jobs and working conditions in this productive sector. This work is exploratory study, based on theoretical and literature review of representative authors of the debate on the subject, documentary research to official data, as well as the documents, information and experiences socialized by Sindimetal-Rio on the struggle for progress in terms respect for workers' health. Thus, the project aimed to analyze the shipping industry and its particularities, especially in the city of Rio de Janeiro. They were used also as a methodological procedure, semi-structured interviews with workers in the shipping industry, who contributed information and statements, in order to grasp the perceptions that involve the issue of health and illness of these subjects in relation to the processes and working conditions. Interviews were conducted also with the metalworkers union in order to situate their perceptions and processes of struggle around for better working conditions in this productive sector and hence to health of workers. Submitted and approved by the Ethics Committee on Research of UERJ, it is intended, thus contributing not only to the production of knowledge in academic and scientific level, but also provide a closer as the visibility of the health-disease shipping workers process to contribute to support future alternatives and improvements in working conditions that labor space because, after all, the results showed that the processes, conditions and labor relations in the shipping industry have brought significant repercussions on the health of workers.
