A presente dissertação trata da trajetória da defensora de direitos humanos Nilce de Souza, mais conhecida como “Nicinha”. Através de sua trajetória, busca-se compreender como se dá o processo de categorização e sujeição de sujeitos denominados “defensores de direitos humanos”, por meio dos desdobramentos decorrentes do fazer Estado. A pesquisa foi realizada através de trabalho de campo em Rondônia, mais especificamente no município de Abunã, local onde Nicinha militava contra os efeitos decorrentes da implantação da Usina Hidrelétrica de Jirau – RO. Além do campo, o trabalho propõe realizar uma análise documental, seja por meio de laudo antropológico, inquérito policial, laudos periciais, dentre outros, tornando possível observar e descrever as práticas e procedimentos da administração pública que inscrevem a luta empreendida por Nicinha e os demais ribeirinhos atingidos pelos efeitos da Hidrelétrica até o seu assassinato. A análise destes documentos revelou os diferentes enunciados que envolvem os modos de operar do Estado e de produção de memória em torno da trajetória de militantes de direitos humanos em todo o país.
This dissertation deals with the trajectory of human rights defender Nilce de Souza, better known as "Nicinha". Through its trajectory, it seeks to understand how the process of categorization and subjection of subjects denominated "defenders of human rights" occurs, through the unfolding consequences of the State making. The research was carried out through fieldwork in Rondônia, specifically in the municipality of Abunã, where Nicinha militated against the effects of the implementation of the Jirau - RO Hydroelectric Power Plant. Besides the field, the work proposes an extensive documentary analysis, either through an anthropological report, police investigation, expert reports, among others, making it possible to observe and describe the practices and procedures of the public administration that inscribe the struggle undertaken by Nicinha and the other riparians affected by the effects of the Hydroelectric Plant until their assassination. The analysis of these documents revealed the different statements that involve the State's modes of operation and the production of memory around the trajectory of human rights activists throughout the country.
