A fantasia fundamental é um conceito desenvolvido pelo psicanalista francês Jacques Lacan, que se apóia no estudo de Freud sobre a fantasia bate-se numa criança , comum tanto em pessoas neuróticas, como nos casos de perversão. Ela tem fases consciente e inconsciente e está associada ao gozo sexual. Segundo Freud, ela é efeito do recalque, e conserva no inconsciente o amor da menina e do menino pelo pai, como o castigo pelo desejo incestuoso. Com a análise de Lacan, constata-se que essa fantasia inconsciente diz respeito à relação da criança com o significante Nome-do-pai, e é, por isso, o marco de sua entrada no campo da neurose ou da perversão. Através da utilização dos textos tardios de Freud sobre a sexualidade feminina e das contribuições de Lacan, a pesquisa confirmou a participação não apenas da função paterna na constituição dessa fantasia nos casos de neurose feminina, mas também da função materna

The fundamental fantasy is a concept developed by the French psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan, which is supported by the study of Freud on the fantasy `a child is beaten', common in people neurotics, as in the perversion cases. That fantasy has phases conscientious and unconscious and is associated with the sexual pleasure and joy. According with Freud, this fantasy it is the effect of repression, and conserve unconscious the love of the girl and of the boy for their fathers, and is at the same time the punishment for the incestuous desire. With the analysis of Lacan, it is evidenced that this unconscious fantasy is related with the significant Name-of- the father, and is, therefore, the landmark of its entrance in the field of the neurosis or the perversion. Through the use of the delayed texts of Freud on the feminine sexuality and of the contributions of Lacan, the research not only confirmed the participation of the paternal function in the constitution of this fantasy in the cases of feminine neurosis, but also of the maternal function
