Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar o processo da fusão entre os antigos estados do Rio de Janeiro e da Guanabara, em suas implicações político-econômica, utilizando como pano de fundo a convergência e o conflito de interesses postos em prática pelos diversos seguimentos da sociedade e da política institucionalizada. Esse esforço de reflexão sobre o tema da fusão, busca selecionar alguns aspectos e forças políticas que delineiam o processo. Por outro lado, busca constatar que a integração entre os estados da federação se convergiu e uma experiência hesitada, não apenas por responder a vocação histórica e consolidar duas economias que se complementam, como também, em criar condições favoráveis para o estabelecimento de um polo de desenvolvimento com notáveis proporções, e adequado aproveitamento dos benefícios de aglomeração. Nesse trabalho, intencionamos analisar os jornais e revistas da época, cuja descrição foi feita para a compreensão do discurso crítico, e obter acesso a fontes como os diários do Congresso Nacional. Em última análise, cabe aqui dizer sobre o esforço que fizemos ao longo das pesquisas para contribuir com o tema, que poderá servir de suporte para estudos com outros aspectos setoriais sobre o processo da fusão.
This work has as objective to analyze the process of the merger between the former states of Rio de Janeiro and Guanabara, in its implications, political and economic, using as its backdrop the convergence and conflict of interests pursued by the various segments of the society and of politics institutionalised. This effort of reflection on the theme of fusion, seeks to select some aspects and political forces that shape the process. On the other hand, the search reveals that the integration between the states of the federation if it has converged, and an experience hesitada, not only by responding to the vocation of the historic and consolidate the two economies that complement each other, as well as in creating favourable conditions for the establishment of a pole of development with remarkable proportions, and proper utilisation of the benefits of agglomeration. In this work, do we intend to analyze the newspapers and journals of the time, which description has been made to the understanding of the critical discourse, and to gain access to sources such as the diaries of the National Congress. In the final analysis, it is important here to say about the effort that we have made along the research to contribute to the theme, which may serve to support studies with other aspects of the sector about the process of the merger.
